We’ve put together answers to the most common questions for first-time yoga students and new students to the studio.
New to Yoga?
I’m new to yoga. Which class should I start with?
We recommend beginning with a gentle or basics class. Your teacher will guide you and offer modifications, so you feel comfortable.
Do I need to be flexible?
Not at all! Yoga is about meeting yourself where you are. Flexibility will come with time, but it’s not a requirement.
What should I bring to class?
Comfortable clothing you can move in, water, and a yoga mat if you have one. We also have mats and props available if needed.
What if I get tired or need a break?
Listening to your body is part of the practice. Move to a position that is comfortable and honors what the body needs in that moment.
New to the Studio?
Do you offer memberships or class packs?
Yes! We offer a drop-in option, class packs, and monthly and yearly memberships so you can choose what works best for you.
Do I need to sign up in advance?
We recommend pre-registering online to save your spot, but walk-ins are welcome if space allows.
How long are classes?
A typical class time is 75 minutes, though special classes and workshops can differ in length.
Do I have to stay for the whole class?
It is not a requirement to stay for the whole class. If you need to leave early, please be respectful to the other students and roll up your mat and leave the space quietly. If it is a studio mat, leave it where it is and we will take care of it for you.
Things to Know
How do I get to the studio at The Hub?
Come through the outside double doors and look for the chalkboard sign directing you down the hall to suite 115.
What if the outside door is locked?
Please call the studio if you can't get in. If the code pad is green on the external doors, the door should pull open. If it is red, the door will be propped open for easy access.
What should I do if I'm running late to class?
If you can, please call the studio and let us know. We will roll out a mat for you to hold space. When you arrive, please enter the studio space quietly and find your way to the mat.
What is studio etiquette?
Arrive on time or early to find a spot. Remove shoes, leave behind items not needed, and silence devices. After class, wipe down studio mats and exit quietly as there may be other healing sessions in progress.
